The “Humane Heart of the University of Split” initiative, traditionally carried out in collaboration with the MoSt Association, once again highlighted the importance of fostering empathy, solidarity, and tolerance within the academic community. Through direct interaction and work with individuals at risk of homelessness and poverty, students and university staff have the opportunity not only to offer support but also to gain valuable life experience that transcends the boundaries of formal education.
This initiative is of great importance to the beneficiaries of the MoSt Association, as it provides them with a sense of value, acceptance, and visibility in society. Meeting with volunteers shows them they are not alone—that someone sees them, hears them, and understands them. This kind of support often has a profound impact on their dignity and their hope for a better tomorrow.

This year, representatives of the Communication and Media program also joined the initiative — Professor Nebojša Lujanović, teaching assistant Vanja Pavlov, student Amra Hodžić, and student Špiro Čizmić. By visiting the MoSt Association’s shelter, distributing meals, and engaging in conversations with the beneficiaries, they contributed to this meaningful effort that connects the academic community with tangible social action.
