Sveučilište u Splitu podržava UN-ove ciljeve održivog razvoja

On the University Campus in Split, hidden behind the University Library building, is the editorial office of Radio Campus, a non-profit student radio station of the University of Split, founded in 2014 by the association Students for Students. With the launch of the new undergraduate program Communication and Media, the University became the owner of this radio station, aiming to make it a teaching base and a place where students get their first experience with radio broadcasting. Today, the Radio Campus editorial team consists of around fifty student volunteers who, under the guidance of chief editor Vesna Vujević, create and produce the programming.

Students from the undergraduate Communication and Media program are strongly represented among the volunteers. As many as 20 students have chosen Radio Practicum as an elective course, which includes practical training at Radio Campus. For many of them, leadership in radio or television was the main motivation and ultimate goal for enrolling in the program, and this opportunity provides a rare and valuable chance to experience the profession firsthand. The Radio Practicum covers all aspects of working in a radio newsroom. During their training, students have completed the so-called "fieldwork," which includes gathering interviews, editing reports, and live reporting (known in journalistic jargon as "going on air"). To collect interviews on location, students have the opportunity to participate in various social and cultural events, such as the charity-organized Splicke Scene at the Youth Center or the tribute concert for Đorđe Balašević.

Radio Campus broadcasts daily University news diligently written and reported by our students, along with other shows. Every Monday, our female students host a program on gender equality called She and Them, interviewing influential and promising women. Some students have also dared to create their own radio shows. First-year students Rita and Mihaela host a music show called You Choose, Radio Play! on Thursdays, while Vjeko, a second-year student, runs Cool Culture, informing listeners about cultural events in the city. For sports enthusiasts, first- and second-year students Paula and Jere have prepared a new sports show called Second Half. This is just a part of what Radio Campus, in cooperation with our students, offers to its listeners…
